Before I was writing about operations and team building, I spent eight years building Smoke Cartel from a college apartment in Savannah into a publicly traded company. I co-founded it in 2013 while studying Service Design at SCAD, ran operations, then served as CEO and Chairman, took the company public, and led it through an $8M acquisition.
Along the way I got obsessed with the product side. I designed hand pipes and water pipes, worked directly with glassblowers, and walked more trade show floors than I can count. I cared about what looked good on a shelf, but even more about what felt right in your hand and held up to daily use. That service design training never really left me.
This is where those designs live now. Everything here is something I designed or had a hand in creating over my career: glass, apparel, and the occasional piece of merch that I'd actually want to own myself. Some are pieces I designed back in the "good old" days. Some are brand new.
Made with intention, and built by someone who's been on both sides of the counter.
